Avner Ben-Gal
Avner Ben-Gal was born in Ashkelon, Israel, in 1966, and studied at Bezalel Academy of Art and Design, Jerusalem. Ben-Gal was the subject of a solo show at the Museum für Gegenwartskunst, Basel, Switzerland in 2008 and he has participated in various group shows, including one at the Villa Manin Centre for Contemporary Art, Passariano, Codroipo, Italy, 2007, and as part of the Venice Biennial, 2003. A number of books have been published on his work, notably a catalogue to accompany his 2008 show in Basel. He lives and works in Tel Aviv. In 2009, he had shows at the Tel Aviv Museum of Art, Israel and also at Fabio Tiboni Contemporary Art, Bologna, Italy.
