Richard Prince
Richard Prince was born in the Panama Canal Zone in 1949. Prince had his first solo museum show in 1983, at the Institute of Contemporary Art in London. Since then he has had numerous solo exhibitions, most recently at the Serpentine Gallery, London, and at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York, 2008. He has contributed to various group shows including Martian Museum of Terrestrial Art, Barbican Art Gallery, London, 2008; Concept: Photography – Dialogues and Attitudes, Ludwig Museum, Museum of Contemporary Art, Budapest, Hungary, 2007; and Sympathy for the Devil: Art and Rock and Roll since 1967, Museum of Contemporary Art, Chicago, 2007. Richard Prince, published in 2007 by Hatje Cantz, Germany, is the most recent monograph of Prince’s work. The artist lives and works in New York State.
