Until October 31, 2021, the Vincent van Gogh Foundation presented an exceptional exhibition, bringing together works by Laura Owens and seven paintings by Vincent van Gogh, painted in the last years of his life. Metamorphosing the space, Laura Owens created a monumental wallpaper using various handcrafted and digital techniques. The motifs of these rooms, which draw a suspended universe between premodern and contemporary, are inspired by the works of the English designer Winifred How, a student in London at the beginning of the twentieth century who has remained virtually unknown since.

This book aims to make people live or relive the immersive experience offered at the Vincent van Gogh Foundation in Arles during 2021. The catalogue contains essays and texts by Bice Curiger, Mark Godfrey and Julia Marchand that look at the artist's work as well as the side effects of her practice, including her time in Arles during the first confinement.
